COMMITTEE REPORT – DECEMBER 2012

Finance (November 2012):

General:
• Update on the 4 priorities agreed to at the AGM.
o New Postboxes. Completed. If you haven’t collected the keys to your new postbox these can be obtained from Dominique Whitby at GAE’s office in San Blas. Contact details below.
o Finish Back Garden. Completed.
o Repair & Painting Complex. Ongoing. Gomasper have advised that they are now only liable for structural damage. Following discussion at the EGM held 10th November it was agreed that the community’s lawyer should proceed with bringing a case against Gomasper. Further quotes being obtained for repair and painting of complex. Cost of €6.80 per square metre agreed at EGM held 10th November.
o Repair Swimming Pool. Agreed at EGM held 10th November to proceed with tiling.
• Repair to Water Pumps. All complete. Part of the repair was to install pressure reduction values to the whole complex. This reduces the water pressure from 8 kgs to max 6 kgs.
• EGM. Held on 10th November. Minutes to be issued shortly.
• Palm Trees. All but one tree tidied up. The remaining tree is considered too thin and consequently too dangerous to climb. The tree surgeon has recommended cutting this and one other down. Arrangements have therefore been made for these two trees to be cut down on 15th December. Only one of these trees will be replaced due to lack of space within one of the garden areas (as the very bottom of the old trunk has to be left in the garden)
• Painting. The re-painting of the existing white area beneath the rocks around the internal garden has commenced.
• “Entrance” garage door. A new motor has been fitted together with a new “receptor”. The latter was not initially required but went missing when the broken motor was removed. As a result some garage remote keys will not work. A note has been delivered by the committee to all apartments asking residents to check whether their garage remote keys work before leaving the complex. If any are found to be not working, then these can be reset by a member of the committee.
• Non adherence to Internal Rules. Some children are still playing ball within the complex. This is not allowed. Can parents please remind their children.
• Administrator Contact. Our normal day to day contact with our Administrators (GAE) is Dominique Whitby. Dominique can be contacted on 680435524 / 922738532 comunidades.sur10@gaetfe.com. However until 26th December Dominique will be on holiday and her colleague Jacqui will be covering comunidades.sur3@gaetfe.com. Any emails to Jacqui should also be copied to Dominique.
• Don’t forget to let the Administrators have your email address if you wish to receive information such as this report, minutes of meetings or other important communication electronically.
• The community has a presence on Facebook (CDAD PROP LA FINCA; a Group AND a Community) and has its own forum (http://lafinca.great-forum.com). These are used to provide the latest information regarding the community as well as providing additional means of letting us have your comments or advise us of any concerns.

The President, committee members and Administration hope that you all have a good Christmas and offer our best wishes for 2013. Sebastian has been asked to put up some Christmas lights as in previous years.
